SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, has collaborated with Centurion University to drive a mobile Vision Care Health initiative in peripheral areas. This program aims to provide accessible and essential eye care services to rural communities.
The initiative was inaugurated on5th February 2025 at Padampur Gram Panchayat Office, Kuarmunda Block. Present on the occasion were, Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), Mr. T.B. Toppo, AGM (CSR), and Ms. Richa Sudhiram, Manager (CSR), local self-government members and Centurion University personnel. Over three consecutive days that is from 5th to 7th February, the mobile vision care unit reached four more Gram panchayats—Putrikhaman and Jaidega in Kuarmunda Block and Sorda and Baghdega in Nuagaon Block.
More than 700 villagers from total five Gram Panchayats benefited from the camp in which comprehensive eye tests were carried out, eyewear distributed, and consultations extended by medical professionals. The initiative played a crucial role in diagnosing eye conditions, raising awareness about preventive eye health, and ensuring affordable vision care solutions for rural Odisha.
