SAIL Rourkela NDDB Gift Milk Programme MoU renewal

·  RSP to spend more than Rs.42 lakhs in a year

·  1758 students of 37 schools from Kuarmunda and Bisra Block to benefit

SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) for Nutrition, Anand, Gujarat and District Administration to provide nutritious Pasteurized fortified flavored packaged milk to Primary School children of Bisra Block, Kuarmunda Block and Rourkela Municipal Corporation under the flagship CSR Gift Milk Programme. The MoU was signed on 30th March, 2026. Mr. T G Kanekar, CGM (TS & CSR) singed the MoU on behalf of RSP and Ms. Shelly Topno, Manager (NDDB), Kolkata signed the MoU on behalf of NDDB. Present on the occasion were Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), Mr. Bivabasu Mallick, GM (CSR), Mr. T B Toppo, DGM (CSR), Mr. P Sahoo, DGM (CSR), Mr. B Jena, AGM (CSR), Mr. S Shukula, Deputy Manager (CSR) and other Officers and staff of CSR.  Mr. Abhishek Aind, the Nodal officer of NDDB, Rourkela also attended the event. .

The MoU will facilitate the continuation of the noble CSR initiative which ended on 31st March, 2026 under the previous MoU.  The new MoU is in force since 1st April, 2026 to 31st March, 2027 for a period of one year with a budgeted expenditure for one year shall of  Rs. 42.48 Lakhs.

1758 students of 37 schools from Kuarmunda and Bisra Block would benefit from the programme.

Notably, as a part of the unique CSR initiative, 200ml fortified flavoured milk is being given to each child on all working days at school premises. This initiative not only aims to support the overall growth and development of the school going children but also improves nutrition and performance, boosts immunity and encourages school attendance.
