An RPL Certificate Distribution and Sampark programme was held at Sintering Plant – II of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 10th August by Learning and Development Department. Mr. S K Padhi, GM In-charge (SP-II) presented the RPL certificates to one employee and 16 contract workers associated with the Department. Present on the occasion were Mr. H N Pati, GM (HR-L&D), Mr. S Konda, GM (HR-L&D), other Senior Officers and employees of the Department.
Notably, these RPL trained persons were trained in domain skills as well as soft skills. During the course they were provided with entrepreneurship tips. After assessment they have all been certified. The main objective of the certification is to align the competencies of the pre-existing workforce of the country to the standardized National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).
Under Sampark initiative, the L&D activities were highlighted and the training needs were discussed at length to make the L&D programme more relevant and vibrant. The session was facilitated by the HR- L&D team comprising Mr. Sampad Mishra, AGM, Ms. Arnnapurna Behera, Senior Manager, Ms. Binita Tirkey, Manager and Mr. Alok Ranjan Behera, Junior Officer.
