REC Limited, a notable public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Power, organized a workshop on ‘Customized Debt-Financing for Commercial Mining & MDOs’ in New Delhi’s Hotel Oberoi. The event brought together key stakeholders from coal mining and financing sectors.
Distinguished figures, including Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan, IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of REC Limited, and Shri Amrit Lal Meena, IAS, Secretary of the Ministry of Coal, actively participated. Sh Mukesh Choudhary, Director (Marketing) at Coal India Limited, and other industry and government dignitaries were also present.
Shri Vivek Kumar Dewangan stressed the mining sector’s role in India’s economic progress and the need for tailored debt financing solutions, affirming REC’s commitment.
Chief Guest Shri Amrit Lal Meena endorsed the workshop and urged financial institutions to find suitable credit solutions for commercial coal mining. He emphasized the responsible closure and repurposing of exhausted coal mines for sustainable ventures.
Additional Secretary Shri Nagaraju praised REC’s eco-friendly initiative in mining to meet base load demands. Shri. Mukesh Choudhary highlighted the vital role of Mining and Mine Developers and urged financial institutions to support sector growth, with REC playing a pivotal role.
The workshop aimed to enhance understanding of customized debt-financing solutions, foster knowledge sharing, and innovative financing discussions. Presentations and open forums addressed concerns of Mining Developers. Shri. Ajoy Choudhury and Shri. V K Singh addressed queries, showcasing REC Limited’s financial solutions, marking a significant step toward promoting growth and sustainability in the mining industry.
