BILASPUR: South Eastern Coalfields Limited has emerged as the only arm of Coal India Limited to register growth across all major operational parameters in FY26. The company recorded coal production of 176.2 million tonnes, marking a 5.26% year-on-year increase, while offtake rose to 178.6 million tonnes, up 4.6%. Overburden removal reached a record 364.3 million cubic metres, driven by improved rail despatch and enhanced First Mile Connectivity infrastructure.
CMD Harish Duhan said the performance reflects strong teamwork and operational resilience, reaffirming SECL’s role in supporting the nation’s energy security. He added that the company continues to advance in digitalisation, sustainability, and social responsibility, with initiatives in solar expansion, land acquisition, and inclusive employment, alongside the adoption of modern technologies to improve efficiency and transparency.
