A 2- Day Programme on ‘Enhancing Leadership for Women Executives’ was held at Learning and Development Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 20th and 21st January 2025. The objective of the programme was to reconnect with deeper identity and uniqueness, discovering the traps and blocks, exploring roles that one plays and examining the change that is required within oneself.
The inaugural function was presided over by Mr. Chinmoy Samajdar, CGM (Law) who encouraged the participants to make the best of the training programme while stressing upon different leadership traits. Present on the dais were Mr. P K Sahoo, CGM (MS & L&D) and Ms. Sunitha Suggarthi, Programme Director, IIM, Raipur and the Resource person of the programme.
The two day programme was mostly activity based with introspection, reflection and insights. It started with ‘Treasure Within Me’ activity helping participants to draw memories of one’s life journey, highlighting different traits, values and adjectives associated with it. Then moving on to different aspects of leadership such as zones, boundaries, Belief system, value system, behaviour, roles, responsibilities, stress busters and blocks and under currents. An action-planning session enabled participants to identify behaviors to leave behind, continue, or adopt afresh. Each of the sessions saw enthusiastic participation of the participants.
Mr. R K Muduli, CGM (Electrical) presided over the feedback cum valedictory session and handed over the Certificate of completion to all the participants. Speaking on the occasion Mr. R K Muduli encouraged women to embrace change, drive innovation for a higher purpose, and focus on inclusive success that extends beyond financial gains. Leadership, he concluded, is about progress, self-motivation, and leaving a meaningful impact on others.
In both the inaugural and closing session Mr. P K Sahoo, welcomed the gathering while Mr. H N Pati, GM (HR- L&D) proposed a formal vote of thanks. Mr. Himanshu Mishra, Senior Manager (HR- L&D) anchored the function and coordinated it along with Ms. Arnnapurna Behera, Senior Manager (HR – L&D).
