The government e-Market (GeM) portal has facilitated over Rs 4 trillion in procurement this fiscal, with increased activity from ministries, departments, and PSUs. The portal, operational since August 2016, offers diverse products including automobiles, computers, and furniture. Services procurement surged from Rs 66,000 crore in 2022-23 to Rs 2.05 trillion this fiscal, while goods procurement reached Rs 1.95 trillion by March 28, enhancing transparency and competitiveness in government procurement.
