Sixty-three Indian nationals working at the Trishuli-1 power project site have been successfully rescued following devastating flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border, according to updates from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Emphasizing that India stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Nepal during this crisis, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar confirmed that urgent coordination efforts are underway with top officials and envoys in Kathmandu and Beijing. While these 63 individuals are safe, at least 290 Indians—comprising hydropower workers and tourist groups—remain missing in the flood-affected areas of Nepal, alongside nearly 200 others stranded on the Chinese side, as joint search-and-rescue operations prioritize locating those who are still untraceable.
