NEW DELHI. Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has approved a major investment of 485.04 crore rupees for the upgrade of its SCADA system to enhance real-time grid monitoring, operational efficiency, and overall transmission network reliability. Alongside this modernization initiative, the Maharatna PSU has secured a massive unsecured international term loan facility of JPY 80 billion from the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) and participating financial institutions. This strategic foreign financing will be utilized to support the expansion of vital transmission infrastructure, manage ongoing capital expenditure requirements, and further strengthen India’s national power grid network, reflecting robust global investor confidence in the country’s energy infrastructure sector.
