Performance Enhancement Plan Workshop on ‘Synergising Mines for Plant Operation’ concludes  at SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant

A 2-day Performance Enhancement Plan (PEP) workshop on ‘Synergising Mines for Plant Operation’ concluded on 24th July, 2024 at CPTI of SAIL Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Mr. Alok Verma, ED (Mines) presided over the concluding function and facilitated the Action Plan presentation session. Ms. Rajashree Banerjee, CGM (HR-L&D) also shared the dais. Around 43 employees including executives from Odisha Group of Mines and Jharkhand Group of Mines and associated Departments of RSP such as Raw Material Handling Plant, Sintering Plant, Blast Furnace and Quality attended the workshop.

Action plans with assigned responsibilities and timelines were presented by the six teams formed to discuss various issues. Some of the key findings and suggestions for improvements were, establishment of testing  laboratory  of Iron Ore at Barsua valley loading point for quality improvement of raw materials in Mine, installation of CBM system for HT motors at Bolani Ores Mines for better monitoring and optimal utilization, implementation of Double Screen as a cost control and manpower optimization measure, improvement of communication system and techno-economic parameters and modernization of the plant for smooth operation and dispatch.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Verma urged the participants to adhere to the action plan and time line to get good quality raw materials for boosting productivity and efficiency in iron making.

At the outset Ms. Subhasmita Das, AGM (Central Coordination Mines) welcomed the gathering and anchored the event. The programme was jointly coordinated by L & D Department and Mines.
