NTPC Kanti has achieved a significant sustainability milestone by reaching 126% ash utilization this year, alongside maintaining a perfect safety record with zero fatal accidents over the past four years. Head of Project Sanjib Kumar Suar highlighted the station’s commitment to the environment, noting the planting of over 70,000 saplings to complement its efficient waste management. These operational successes are paired with a strong focus on infrastructure, including the development of local roads, drainage systems, and the distribution of 900 desks to nearby schools to improve the learning environment for local students.
The power station has also significantly expanded its CSR outreach, focusing on healthcare, education, and skill development. Weekly medical camps and a dedicated ambulance service for mothers and newborns provide essential health services to surrounding villages, while the flagship Girl Empowerment Mission offers residential training to young girls annually. To boost local employment, NTPC Kanti has implemented vocational training in sectors like food processing and sewing, and recently sponsored 18 students for technical training at CIPET Hajipur, all of whom successfully secured jobs.
