NTPC Celebrates Golden Jubilee with ₹1 Lakh Reward for Employees

New Delhi: Marking 50 years of powering India, NTPC Limited celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a grand event at Siri Fort Auditorium. On the occasion, CMD Gurdeep Singh announced a cash reward of ₹1 lakh for all NTPC employees, appreciating their dedication and contribution to the company’s success.

Singh also revealed that NTPC has raised its installed generation capacity target from 130 GW to 149 GW by 2032 and aims to achieve 244 GW by 2037. The company’s current installed capacity stands at 84,849 MW, meeting nearly one-fourth of the nation’s electricity demand.

He added that NTPC, though a new entrant in coal mining, has emerged as the third-largest coal mining company in the country within a decade.

The event was attended by Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal, who noted that India’s per capita power consumption is expected to rise from around 1,500 kWh at present to 4,680 kWh by 2047, underscoring the growing need for capacity expansion.
