NTPC Bongaigaon, in partnership with the District Administration of Kokrajhar and the Public Works Department (PWD), signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the construction of a new toilet block at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Basugaon, Kokrajhar. Valued at ₹9.35 lakhs, this project aims to enhance sanitation facilities at the school, furthering NTPC’s ongoing efforts to improve educational infrastructure.
The initiative includes the construction of four toilets and bathrooms, along with necessary water facilities, contributing to a more comfortable and hygienic environment for the students. The MoA was signed by key officials, including Smt. Masanada M. Pertin, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar, and Shri Akhilesh Singh, Head of Project at NTPC Bongaigaon.
Both initiatives are aligned with the Government of India’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, emphasizing NTPC Bongaigaon’s commitment to empowering young women through education. Smt. Pertin highlighted the importance of such collaborations in addressing infrastructure needs and fostering holistic student development, while Shri Singh reaffirmed NTPC’s dedication to creating a safe and supportive learning environment for female students in the region
