KOKRAJHAR: NTPC Bongaigaon, in partnership with the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), has inaugurated three Education Space Labs in the Chirang and Kokrajhar districts. Set up with a total investment of 60 lakh, these state-of-the-art facilities—named after local luminaries—aim to bring the wonders of space science and astronomy to rural students. Each lab is equipped with over 30 interactive tools, including telescopes, drones, and demonstration rockets, designed to transform theoretical science into a hands-on, experiential journey.
The inauguration was graced by Derhasat Basumatary (Hon’ble EM, Health and Family Welfare, BTC) and Rabiram Narzary (Hon’ble EM, Education, BTC), alongside Shri Amit Kumar Asthana (AGM-HR, NTPC Bongaigaon). These dignitaries highlighted the project’s role in democratizing quality science education for over 3,000 students annually. By bridging the gap between conventional classrooms and high-tech exploration, this unique CSR initiative seeks to nurture scientific temperament and inspire the next generation of engineers and researchers within the Bodoland Territorial Region.
