NTPC Bongaigaon signed two Memoranda of Agreement (MoAs) with the District Administration of Kokrajhar on January 29, 2024, aimed at enhancing local infrastructure through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. The agreements were executed by Smt. Kabita Deka, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Kokrajhar, and Rabin Chandra Brahma, Executive Engineer, PWD, alongside Onkar Nath, AGM (HR) of NTPC Bongaigaon, in the presence of IAS District Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi and CGM Karunakar Das from NTPC. The first MoA focuses on developing facilities at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) in Kokrajhar, which currently provides extra coaching for 80 girl students from JNVs across North-East India, thereby supporting women empowerment and the government’s Beti Bachao initiative. The second MoA pertains to the installation of public gym equipment at Gandhi Park, which is under renovation to enhance its appeal and attract visitors. This initiative promotes physical fitness, social interaction, and community bonding, highlighting NTPC’s commitment to local development and youth engagement.
