NIRL and MAHAPREIT Join Forces to Develop 5000 MW Renewable Energy Projects in Maharashtra

MUMBAI. NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL) has signed a Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Limited (MAHAPREIT) in Mumbai to establish a Joint Venture Company (JVC) for the development of renewable energy projects in Maharashtra. This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone in NIRL’s expansion into the state’s dynamic green energy sector, aiming to develop up to 2000 MW of renewable energy capacity in the initial phase—including solar, wind, hybrid, floating solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), pumped storage, and solar parks—starting with 500 MW in Phase I and eventually scaling up to 5000 MW across Maharashtra
