SURAT. The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding with Suzuki R&D Center India Private Limited and Surat District Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd. (Sumul Dairy) for setting up a 75 MTPD dung-based Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant at Surat, Gujarat. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr. Meenesh Shah, Chairman, NDDB; Shri Kenichiro Toyofuku, Director, SRDI; Shri H. R. Patel, Custodian; and CA Arun Purohit, Managing Director, Sumul Dairy. The project marks an important step towards promoting sustainability and circularity in the dairy sector by producing clean CBG and nutrient-rich organic fertilisers, improving soil health, reducing dependence on chemical fertilisers, supporting climate-resilient farming, generating additional income for dairy farmers, and contributing to India’s carbon neutrality goals. Reinforces our journey of responsible mining and impactful storytelling.
