NCRTC, India’s flagship rail project, has made it to the top by winning the UIC Sustainability Impact Awards 2024 in the ‘Seamless Connectivity’ category and bagging the overall ‘Overall Winner’ award. The award was accepted by Shri Shalabh Goel, Managing Director, NCRTC, at InnoTrans 2024 in Berlin. The Delhi-Meerut RRTS (Rapid Rail Transit System) was recognized by the jury for its innovative approach to multimodal integration, commuter-centricity, and advanced technological solutions. The project aims to shift reliance from personal vehicles to public transit, easing congestion and pollution in the National Capital Region.
