A grand Award Ceremony was organized by SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Gopabandhu Auditorium of L&D Centre on 26th September, 2024 to mark the ongoing Rajbhasha Pakhwada celebrations. Mr. S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works), RSP presided over the function as Chief Guest. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) with the additional charge of ED (Projects) and Mr. A K Behuria, ED (F&A) were the Guests of Honour, while Mr. Sangeet Verma, acclaimed writer and scholar was the Key-note Speaker. Several Chief General Managers, Senior Officers, employees and prize winners were present on the occasion.
In his address Mr. Suryawanshi elaborated upon the importance of Rajbhasha, and reiterated RSP’s commitment towards its promotion. He also encouraged the use of digital tools to promote Hindi in official usage.
Drawing a parallel between the intricate relationship between science and language, Mr SAngeet Verma in his thought provoking speech, emphasized the vital role of languages in the evolution and advancement of humankind. He also elaborated on Hindi’s role as an inclusive language, serving as a foundation for the flourishing of other languages.
Earlier, the messages of Mr. Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Home Minister & Minister of Cooperation and Mr. Amarendu Prakash, SAIL Chairman were read out by, Ms. Khushboo Mishra, Senior Manager (RCL) and Mr. Shabaaz Thakor, Assistant Manager (Fire Services) respectively.
Mr. Suryawanshi, Mr. Misra and Mr. Behuria handed over the prizes of various competitions held earlier amongst the employees, contract workers and school students to mark the Rajbhasha Pakhwada. The poets who recited their poems in the Kavita Pathh in RSTV were also felicitated on the occasion. More than 100 persons were awarded on this occasion. The Rajbhasha Trophy for highest implementation of Rajbhasha was presented to the Silicon Steel Mill, which was received by Mr. Subrat Kumar, CGM (HSMs & Auxiliaries), Mr. C R Mishra, GM Incharge (SSM) and his team.
During the function Mr. Suryawanshi released the e- Ispat Darpan – 2024, the Odia, Hindi bilingual magazine.
Earlier the programme commenced with the rendition of National Anthem, which was followed by lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Renowned vocalist Mr. Vinay Mohanty rendered the invocation song. Ms. Archana Satpathy, GM (PR) & COC, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the key activities undertaken for promotion of Rajbhasha. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Lolati Toppo, AGM (PR-Rajbhasha). Mr. Joydev Mazumdar, Assistant Manager (PR) was the master of ceremony. The event was organised by the Public Relations-Rajbhasha team of RSP.
