National Summit Explores New Ways to Improve Government Performance

National Departmental Summit on government performance

NEW DELHI. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), along with the Capacity Building Commission (CBC), recently hosted a virtual National Departmental Summit. The event focused on moving from traditional training methods to performance-linked governance. Union Minister of State Dr. Jitendra Singh attended as the Chief Guest and spoke to senior officers from various States, Union Territories, and Administrative Training Institutes. In his address, he highlighted the government’s strong commitment to civil services reforms through initiatives like Mission Karmayogi and the iGOT Karmayogi digital learning platform.

The summit began with a welcome address by DoPT Secretary Ms. Rachna Shah, followed by a special address from CBC Chairperson Smt. S. Radha Chauhan. The discussions centered on building a future-ready governance system by continuously improving the skills of government officials. By connecting workplace training directly with performance and accountability, the initiative aims to create a more efficient, responsive, and citizen-centric administrative system across India.
