Mumbai Hosts 8th RPO Conclave 2025 to Boost Renewable Energy Financing

Mumbai hosted the “8th Renewable Portfolio Obligation (RPO) Conclave 2025” on February 27, 2025, organized by the Renewable Energy Promotion Association (REPA) in collaboration with the MARKENOMY Foundation and Global Capital Procurement Partners (GCPP) from North America. The conclave focused on “Financing of Renewable Energy and SDG-based Green Economy and Infrastructure,” emphasizing the need for urgent funding solutions to help India achieve its goal of $1 trillion in Alternative Innovative Investment for Inclusion Financing (AIIIF) for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Development Goals.

AUM PHUB ZAM, President of YARKAY Group Pvt. Ltd. from Bhutan, attended as the International Chief Guest of Honour. Other prominent attendees included G.S. Bawa, International Consultant & Aviation Specialist and former General Manager (PR) of Airports Authority of India; Ajoykaant Ruia, Chairman of All State Group; Dr. Jayprakash Rao, CEO of J.P. & Associates; and V.S. Sehgal from SPG Project Consultants and . Sandeep Sonwalker, President, PR Professionals, Mumbai .The discussions highlighted the challenges facing multilateral financing institutions and the urgent need for innovative funding methods.

Key topics included the prioritization of Sustainable Development Goals such as Clean Water & Sanitation, Affordable and Clean Energy, Industry Innovation, Sustainable Cities, and Climate Action. The conclave underscored the crucial role of Renewable Energy in driving these initiatives and fostering economic growth aligned with Gross National Harmony and Happiness.

Various funding models were presented, including low-interest financing for SDG-compliant projects and public-private partnerships for renewable energy infrastructure. The event was moderated by Prof. A.G. Iyer,Secretary General ,REPA & and ENERTIA , and aimed to strengthen international collaborations to mobilize the $1 trillion needed for a sustainable green economy.
