“Our credibility as a fair, transparent, and dependable organization is a key to build long-term relationships with customers and stakeholders,” said Mr. Atanu Bhowmick, Director In-Charge, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) in his keynote address during the concluding ceremony of the Vigilance Awareness Week – 2024 at Gopabandhu Auditorium of RSP on 2nd November, 2024. Hon’ble Justice Anil Kumar Choudhary, Judge, High Court of Jharkhand, Ranchi was the Guest Speaker of the event. Mr. Subrat Praharaj, CGM (Vigilance) & ACVO was also present on the dais. CGMs, and other senior officials of RSP were also present in the occasion.
Speaking further Mr. Bhowmick said, “As a public sector entity, RSP holds a unique responsibility and accountability that calls for fairness and equity in all that we do. A workplace culture that emphasizes zero tolerance for corruption enhances the pride of every employee, strengthening our collective commitment to ethical practices.” He also congratulated the Vigilance Department of RSP for organizing a wide range of meaningful programs during Week especially involving students. “These experiences will help them develop a strong mental compass, enabling them to make ethical choices, even in challenging situations,” he added.
Justice Anil Choudhary, in his speech, said, elaborated about the theme of this year’s Vigilance Awareness Week i.e ‘Culture of Integrity for Nation’s prosperity. “When organisations and citizens imbibe the culture of ethics and integrity, it brings a sense of commitment and belongingness,” he said. Elaborating about the values espoused by Sardar Vallabhai Patel whose Birth Anniversary celebrations are marked by observance of Vigilance Awareness Week, he said that his legacy of honesty and integrity in governance continues to inspire us.
The DIC presented the prizes to the award winners of various competitions held during the Vigilance Awareness Week 2024.
At the outset, Mr. Praharaj welcomed the gathering and elaborated on the various inbound and outreach programmes being organised by the vigilance department during the Vigilance Awareness Week. A short video on the various activities and a video film of the Nukkad Natak organised in peripheral schools were also screened during the event. Ms. Swayamshree Mohapatra, a Class X student of DAV Public School, Rourkela, delivered a powerful speech on the importance of a culture of integrity.
Mr. M K Agarwal, GM (Vigilance) proposed a formal Vote of Thanks and Ms. Kavita Bisoyi, Senior Manager (SMS-II) co-ordinated the function.
