NEW DELHI. Union Minister for Power and Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal Khattar inaugurated the Ministry of Power Pavilion at the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, highlighting India’s commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to build a future-ready, efficient and resilient power sector. The pavilion, themed From Megawatts to Megabytes: Transforming India’s Power Ecosystem, showcases how digital technologies are reshaping generation, transmission and distribution systems, with key highlights including AI-Driven Power for a Self-Reliant India, a Startup Zone for energy innovators, PG-AMRIT by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for AI-enabled transmission asset management, the eAabhas early warning system for dam and flood monitoring, and AI-driven implementation of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme to enhance DISCOM efficiency.

The Minister also visited the booth of NHPC Limited and the exhibition by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, where Managing Director Vikas Kumar briefed him on AI initiatives aimed at faster grievance redressal, passenger service improvements and predictive maintenance of critical systems such as overhead electrification, pantograph interaction, rolling stock and signalling, reinforcing the government’s push for technology-led transformation in the power and urban transport sectors.
