MUMBAI. In a significant stride towards enhancing Maharashtra’s energy landscape, the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MahaGenCo), and the Maharashtra Institution for Transformation (MITRA) have jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the state’s nuclear power development program.
The initiative, spearheaded under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis, aims to facilitate the establishment of nuclear power plants within Maharashtra. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized the state’s commitment to proactive cooperation and support for nuclear energy projects, reinforcing Maharashtra’s position as a forward-looking state in sustainable energy development.
The MoU was signed in the presence of prominent officials, including Shri Bhuwan Chandra Pathak, CMD of NPCIL; Shri Radhakrishnan B., IAS, Chairman and Managing Director of MahaGenCo; and Shri Aman Mittal, IAS, Joint CEO of MITRA. Senior officials from the participating organizations also attended the ceremony, underscoring the importance of this strategic partnership.
This collaboration opens avenues for future discussions and joint efforts to establish state-of-the-art nuclear power generation facilities in Maharashtra. The partnership aligns with NPCIL’s commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and sustainable nuclear energy, supporting India’s long-term goals of clean energy and energy security.
