A high-level delegation from the Institute of Directors (IOD), India, recently met with Ms. Deepti Gaur Mukherjee, IAS, Secretary of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), and Mr. D. Balamurugan, IAS, Joint Secretary, MCA, to discuss potential amendments to the Companies Act, 2013, aimed at aligning the legislation with the evolving landscape of corporate governance in India.
The delegation, led by Lt. Gen. Surinder Nath, PVSM, AVSM (Retd.), President of IOD, included prominent members such as Mr. Desh Deepak Verma, IAS (Retd.), Principal Advisor; Mr. Sailesh, IAS (Retd.), Senior Strategic Advisor; Dr. Sameer Sharma, IAS (Retd.), Honorary Chairman, IOD Hyderabad Region; Mr. Pradeep Chaturvedi, Vice President; and Mr. Manoj K. Raut, CEO & Secretary-General of IOD. The discussion was constructive and focused on strengthening India’s corporate governance framework in line with global best practices.
