India–China Direct Flights Resume After Five Years, Strengthening Bilateral Ties

India–China Direct Flights Resume After Five Years

After a five-year hiatus, direct commercial flights between India and China have officially resumed, marking a significant step toward normalising travel and trade relations between the two Asian neighbours. The first flight from New Delhi landed in Shanghai, where Indian Consul General Pratik Mathur welcomed the passengers. In a social media post, the Indian Consulate highlighted that India continues to emerge as a global hub as people-to-people connections deepen and bilateral engagement expands. The resumption of flights is expected to enhance tourism, business, and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
