The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill–2 (HSM-2) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) has set a new record in Hot Rolled (HR) Coil production by making 438 Coils on 7th February, 2025. The previous best single day figure was 423 HR Coils achieved on 2nd October, 2023.
It is noteworthy that HSM-2 is powered by state-of-the-art technology and is operated by an exceptionally dedicated team of engineers and highly skilled technicians. The Mill had registered its Best Monthly production on December, 2024 by rolling 253680 tonnes of slabs to produce 247493 tonnes of HR Coils. The Sheet Shearing Line also recorded its best monthly production in January, 2025 by producing 30011 tonnes of plates.
Congratulating the Hot Strip Mill-2 collective and the leadership along with all the associated Departments for this superb success, Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge has exhorted them to focus on producing 400 coils per day on a consistent basis.
