Ministry of Labour & Employment has entered into a strategic partnership with Rapido, a prominent bike taxi and logistics platform, to enhance employment opportunities in India’s logistics sector.
The MoU signed aims to create approximately 50 lakh jobs over the next 18 months through the National Career Service (NCS) portal, benefiting over 5 crore registered job seekers.
Union Minister of Labour and Employment, Mansukh Mandaviya, highlighted the NCS portal’s role as a dynamic platform connecting job seekers and employers across India. With over 1.75 crore active job seekers and more than 40 lakh registered employers, the portal is integral to workforce mobilization. It is integrated with various platforms, including My Bharat, eShram, SIDH, and MEA-eMigrate, among others.?
The collaboration emphasizes inclusive hiring practices, particularly focusing on women’s employment. Rapido’s “Pink Rapido” initiative is set to create 5 lakh jobs specifically for women. The partnership will facilitate real-time job listings for roles such as bike taxi, auto, and cab drivers on the NCS portal, with API-based integration ensuring seamless application tracking. This initiative is expected to support structured onboarding, digital empowerment, and increased awareness of worker welfare schemes.?
