Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), a unit of Great Place To Work certified Maharatna Steel Conglomerate, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has launched the Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) with an aim to help employees deal with their personal and professional issues by providing them psychological counselling and consulting. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) chaired the inaugural session organized on 3rd March, 2025 at the ‘Samadhan’ Conference Hall to mark the launch of the unique HR initiative at RSP. All the CGMs and many Senior Officers of the plant as well as the representatives of Messers EAP Private Limited, the professional body responsible for the implementation of the project were present on the occasion. Mr. S N Panda, CGM (HR) coordinated the programme. It is noteworthy that representatives of EAP Private Limited will be meeting a cross-section of personnel from RSP, including those from the Odisha Group of Mines, from 3rd to 5th March, 2025 as part of the program.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Misra emphasized the importance of a healthy and productive workforce. He encouraged employees to take full advantage of this exceptional HR initiative introduced by SAIL.
A Briefing and interaction session under the programme was organized in the afternoon at IGH New Conference Hall. Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) and Dr. Jayant Kumar Acharya, CMO In-Charge (M&HS) were present on the occasion. The session was attended by all the medicos of the hospital.
A similar session was organized at the Gopabandhu Auditorium later in the day in which more than 200 employees were briefed about the HR initiative. It was followed by another session for HR executives organized at the ‘Samadhan’ Conference Hall. Mr. S N Panda, CGM (HR) was present on the occasion.
Notably, SAIL has recently introduced the counselling services for all SAIL employees and upto 3 (three) dependent family members. Messers EAP Private Limited has been selected as the service provider for carrying out the subject assignment. The above programme would be confidential and professional support available to all employees and their immediate family members. It would provide access to expert guidance and counselling on various personal and work-related issues, including mental health and emotional well-being, stress management, financial and legal concerns, work-life balance and family and relationship issues.
