KOLKATA. Damodar Valley Corporation participated in a high-level roundtable organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) on February 12, 2025, at Fairfield by Marriott, New Town, Kolkata, focused on establishing the Energy Transition Hub for Eastern and North-Eastern States (ETHENS). The event brought together key government officials, public sector organizations, international partners, and domain experts to discuss strategies for advancing a regionally balanced and inclusive energy transition. Emphasizing the unique structural and geographical challenges faced by the region, including terrain constraints and higher coal dependence, DVC leaders highlighted the importance of tailored policy support and innovative solutions. The Chairman of DVC underscored the necessity of focused policies for a just and sustainable clean-energy shift, while other senior officials highlighted ETHENS’s potential to transform regional challenges into opportunities for renewable energy adoption, innovation, and capacity building. The discussions reaffirmed DVC’s commitment to fostering regional equity and supporting India’s clean-energy goals through collaboration, innovation, and resilient power systems in Eastern and North-Eastern India.
