NEW DELHI. At the bVokal CSR Summit held at the Stein Auditorium, New Delhi, on September 12, 2025, Dr. Bhaskar Chatterjee, former Secretary of Corporate Affairs and renowned Father of Indian CSR and Sustainability, reflected on a decade of CSR legislation. He emphasized that strategic CSR, initiated for Public Sector Undertakings in 2014 and codified through the Companies Act 2013, embodies a uniquely Indian model of CSR—designed in India, for India, and by India. Dr. Chatterjee highlighted the enduring partnership between corporates and implementing agencies, which has fostered a silent CSR revolution bringing significant positive change to the country’s social fabric. He also discussed how advancements in AI and technology are transforming CSR monitoring and service delivery at the grassroots level, while the integration of CSR and ESG is addressing critical issues like climate change. Looking ahead, he envisioned CSR continuing to grow and contribute meaningfully to India’s inclusive development goals.
