Dr. Ashok Kumar Panda has assumed the role of Director (Finance) at Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) . Joining SAIL in 1992 as a Management Trainee, Dr. Panda brings over three decades of rich experience in financial accounting, budgeting, business planning, taxation, and strategic management. Known for his technical and financial acumen, he has significantly contributed to initiatives such as deleveraging, cost optimisation, tax efficiency, and the implementation of digital invoicing across SAIL units. He has also represented SAIL as a Nominee Director on the boards of its subsidiaries and joint ventures, reinforcing strong financial governance.
Beyond finance, Dr. Panda has played a key role in areas like mining, plant operations, and projects, earning accolades such as the Jawahar Award for Excellence in Cost Management and recognition in the Chairman’s Trophy for Young Managers. His proactive approach and leadership qualities, developed through diverse assignments and global training exposure, are set to support SAIL’s vision of driving efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness in the steel sector.
