Series of competitions held by Nursing Training Institute of IGH to mark International Nurses Day Week at SAIL, RSP

Nurses Day Week at SAIL RSP

As part of the International Nurses Day Week, the Nursing Training Institute (NTI) of Ispat General Hospital (IGH), under the aegis of SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), hosted a series of lively and engaging competitions amongst the students. The week-long festivity has been providing a platform to express creativity, confidence, and talents beyond the classroom. The events have been witnessing an enthusiastic and wholehearted participation from students, making the celebrations truly memorable.

Nurses Day Week at SAIL RSP

The celebrations commenced on 21st April with an Essay Competition. 91 students took part in it expressing their, expressing their thoughts with clarity and conviction. Mr. K. M. Patra, External Lecturer of NTI was the judge of the event .

In the Pencil Sketch competition around 44 students took part. Dr. Sonia Joshi, Additional CMO, Dr. Byasadev Mishra, Senior Consultant and Ms. Nabanita Jena, Assistant Manager Vice Principal (NTI) evaluated the artistic skills of the participants.

Mono Acting competition, brought to the forefront powerful performances and emotional depth to the stage by 15 energetic students. It was judged by Dr. Saroj Kumar Rout, Chief Consultant, Ms. Meera Pati, Asst. Manager (Matron) and Ms. Anita Roy, Senior Nursing Tutor.

On 22nd April there were Floor Design, Elocution and Solo Song competitions. The Floor Design competition added colour and aesthetic touch to the celebration. 22 students took part in it. The event was judged by the panel of judges comprising, Ms. Jayashree Rout, Senior Nursing Sister , Dr. B.S. Roychoudhury, Deputy CMO  and Dr. Anima Tiga, Chief Consultant.

Around 20 students took part in the Elocution competition impressing the audience and judges alike with their confidence and oratory skills on a range of topics. The event was judged by Dr. Aruna Mukti Minz, Deputy CMO, Ms. Madhusmita Jena and Ms. Shiny George of NTI.

15 students participated in the Solo Song competition which judged by Dr. K C Tandi, Deputy CMO,  Ms. Jyotsna Rani Ray, Senior Nursing Sister and Ms. Sasmita Sahoo, Nursing Sister .

The events helped the students to explore their talents and express their creativity.
