As part of its ongoing ‘Ease of Booking’ initiative, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced the Multiple Journey QR Ticket (MJQRT), a first-of-its-kind digital solution in India. Launched by DMRC’s Managing Director, Dr. Vikas Kumar, at Metro Bhawan, this innovative feature allows passengers to eliminate the need for purchasing daily QR tickets, offering a seamless and efficient way to manage multiple journeys on the Delhi Metro.
The MJQRT is exclusively available through the DMRC’s Delhi Metro Sarathi (Momentum 2.0) app, with the feature becoming accessible to users starting tomorrow.
The MJQRT offers numerous benefits, including easy onboarding with an initial amount of Rs. 150, no security deposit, and flexible recharge options. Passengers can top up in multiples of Rs. 50 through digital payments such as UPI, credit cards, and debit cards. Additionally, the ticket offers a 10% discount during peak hours and a 20% discount during off-peak hours, providing an eco-friendly and economical alternative to traditional smart cards. In case of device loss or damage, passengers can recover their balance and continue using the MJQRT by logging in on another device.
Dr. Vikas Kumar emphasized DMRC’s commitment to enhancing passenger experience through digital innovation, stating, “We are pleased to launch the Multiple Journey QR Ticket (MJQRT) as part of our ‘Ease of Booking’ initiative. MJQRT simplifies travel with a single QR code, enhancing convenience and offering eco-friendly benefits.” The introduction of MJQRT further strengthens DMRC’s efforts to make metro travel more convenient, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
