Seven distinguished sports persons of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) received the Sports Awards at the Samman Samaroh-2025 organised at the Civic Centre on 14th August. Mr. Alok Verma, Director In-Charge, RSP handed over the awards to best coaches and outstanding sportspersons, para-athlete and hockey cadets.Rohit Raj Bhatta was presented a cash award of Rs. 1,000/-, and memento for securing 1st position in 74 KG in Sub Junior National Power lifting Championship.
Subhranshu Moharana received a cash award of Rs. 1000/- for winning Gold Medal in Shot put in the Down Syndrome National Games event. Rohit Ekka, Jagdeep Barla and Leslan Minz of SAIL Hockey Academy each received Rs. 1000/- for winning Gold Medal in 2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Men Inter Zone Championship.Mr. Vikram Kumar Swain, Junior Engg., (Shops) and Coach of RSP Power Lifting & Weight Lifting team was awarded with Rs. 1000/-. Under his able guidance and efficient coaching Rohit Raj Bhatta become Champion in National Power Lifting Championship held at Delhi & won a Gold Medal.Mr. Raju Kant Saini, Coach of SHA Hockey team was presented with a cash award of Rs. 3,000/-. Under his guidance the players become Champion in 2nd Hockey India Sub Junior Men Inter Zone Championship held at Guwahati & won Gold Medal.
