Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated Datia Airport during the Women Empowerment Mahasammelan held in Bhopal on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar. At the local event in Datia, Union Civil Aviation Minister Shri Ram Mohan Naidu congratulated and extended best wishes to the people of Datia on the inauguration of their airport.
He remarked that it was a day of joy and celebration for Datia and expressed a sense of peace and positivity upon arriving in this holy and religious city. He added that this day, dedicated to the revered Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai, honors the power of womanhood, and that both the central and state governments are committed to empowering women and creating new opportunities for them.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony in Datia on Saturday, Shri Naidu emphasized that Datia Airport will be expanded further in the future. He also announced that an airport facility in Bhind is also planned. He mentioned that arrangements will be made for airbus-level infrastructure, night landing capability, and handling larger aircraft. Shri Naidu also encouraged the youth to explore careers in the civil aviation sector.
