Cooperative societies will also be able to connect with new customers by using technology; Govt has taken more than 60 initiatives for Cooperatives
Secretary of the Ministry of Cooperation, Dr. Ashish Kumar Bhutani, attended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Cooperation and Swiggy Instamart on April 25, 2025. The agreement, signed by Swiggy Instamart CEO Shri Amitesh Jha and Joint Secretary Shri D K Verma, aims to onboard cooperative dairy and other products onto Swiggy’s online marketplace. This initiative will enable cooperatives to tap into new-age consumers through modern technologies, facilitating greater visibility and access to the market for cooperative produce, including organic products under the Bharat Organics brand.
The partnership underscores the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement in India, with over 60 initiatives launched . Swiggy will create a dedicated “Cooperative” category on its platform, focusing on products such as organics, dairy, millets, and handicrafts produced by cooperatives. Additionally, the collaboration will feature an awareness campaign to promote cooperative movements and products nationwide, coinciding with the United Nations’ declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Cooperation. Prior to the MoU, Dr. Bhutani inaugurated a state-of-the-art packaging facility for National Cooperative Organics Limited in Noida, enhancing the packaging of pulses and organic food products.
