Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) a Unit of the Maharatna Company SAIL has registered its Best April-January performance in the current fiscal 2024-25.
Blast Furnace-5 ‘Durga’ achieved its highest April-January performance by tapping 25,99,967 tonnes of Hot Metal, while Blast Furnace-1 ‘Parvati’ complemented this feat with an all-time best output of 8,33,557 tonnes of Hot Metal in the same period. The state-of-the-art Hot Strip Mill-2 (HSM-2) recorded its best-ever April-January performance by rolling an impressive 21,16,097 tonnes of HR Coils, thereby exceeding its previous best of 19,43,793 tonnes achieved in the corresponding period last year (CPLY). The New Plate Mill also set a new benchmark by producing 7,73,779 tonnes of plates during the first ten months, surpassing its previous best of 7,62,847 tonnes recorded in the same period in FY 2022-23.
Besides, the HSM-2 registered its Best Monthly production on December, 2024 by rolling 253680 tonnes of slabs to produce 247493 tonnes of HR Coils. The Sheet Shearing Line also recorded its best monthly production in December, 2024 by producing 30011 tonnes of plates.
The Bolani Ore Mines (BOM) under Odisha Group of Mines of RSP clocked all-time highest-ever Run of Mines (ROM) & Fines production for any month since inception in January, 2025. BOM achieved The highest-ever ROM that is lumps and fines production of 7,56,623 tonnes in January 2025, clocking 110% of the target and surpassing the previous best of 7,10,063 tonnes achieved in December 2023. Also, the highest-ever total Lump & Fines production for January was recorded at all time best figure of 7,10,628 tonnes, surpassing the previous best of 6,79,618 tonnes achieved in January 2023.
