BHUBANESHWAR. President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a series of major developmental projects in Rairangpur, Odisha, aimed at strengthening education, healthcare, infrastructure and cultural facilities in the region. The Assembly Hall-cum-Cultural Centre, to be developed on about 3.3 acres, will serve as a multi-purpose facility for cultural events, public gatherings, academic and skill development activities. It will also function as a disaster management centre during emergencies, thereby promoting and preserving the region’s rich tribal heritage.
The President inaugurated the Information Technology Campus of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University and laid the foundation stones for several key projects, including an AYUSH Hospital-cum-Ayurvedic College, an Odisha University of Agriculture and city beautification and drainage upgradation works, an auditorium and cultural centre, a girls’ hostel and a de-addiction centre.
The Archery Centre at Rairangpur, Mayurbhanj district, will be equipped with training infrastructure, sports equipment, archery ranges, and residential facilities to nurture local talent across all age groups and skill levels.
NTPC has committed to supporting the Government of Odisha in establishing such Archery Academies/Centres in three districts, including Mayurbhanj, to promote the grassroots development of archery.
These initiatives reflect NTPC’s continued commitment to inclusive social development, community empowerment, and the promotion of sports and culture.
