The Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day in New Delhi with the unveiling of a refreshed corporate logo and the launch of two advanced mobility solutions—the 3-Wheeler EV Scooter and the Clip-on Motorised Wheelchair. Dr. Virendra Kumar, and Union Minister of State, Shri B. L. Verma. Dr. Virendra Kumar highlighted ALIMCO’s 53-year evolution from a manufacturing unit into a national institution built on innovation and empathy, noting its key role in supporting over 32 lakh Divyang beneficiaries under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Shri B. L. Verma described the new mobility devices as powerful enablers of dignity and independence, reflecting India’s rising capability in inclusive technology.
Smt. Manmeet Kaur Nanda, Additional Secretary, DEPwD, hailed the day as a milestone in ALIMCO’s journey toward self-reliance and inclusion, commending its workforce and its engagement with more than 80 start-ups in advancing smart and AI-assisted assistive technologies. Introducing the organisation’s new visual identity, CMD Shri Praveen Kumar said the purple logo symbolises dignity, inclusion, and engineering excellence, underscoring ALIMCO’s commitment to delivering modern, high-impact solutions. The celebration saw participation from senior officials of the ministry, allied organisations, and ALIMCO employees.
