Sensitization Workshop on Processing and Execution of Contracts at SAIL RSP

A Sensitization Workshop on Processing and Execution of Contracts was organised at Gopabandhu Auditorium on 22nd November 2024 by the Vigilance Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). Mr. Alok Verma, ED In-Charge (Works) chaired the session. Mr. Biswa Ranjan Palai, Executive Director (Operations), Mr. Subrat Praharaj, CGM (Vigilance) & ACVO were also present on the dais. CGMs, Heads of Departments (HODs), and respective indentors associated with the aforementioned areas and other senior officials of RSP were also present in the occasion.

In his inaugural address, ED I/c (Works) emphasized the critical importance of meticulous planning, accurate documentation, and adherence to procedural norms. He highlighted the role of such initiatives in fostering a culture of accountability and professionalism.

Sensitization Workshop on Processing and Execution of Contracts at SAIL RSPThe ACVO elaborated on recurring gaps observed during vigilance reviews and provided insights into best practices and preventive measures to mitigate such issues. The session also included an interactive Q&A, enabling participants to clarify their queries and discuss real-time challenges.

At the outset, Mr. Sandeep Bansal, AGM (Vigilance), made a presentation pertaining to the deficiencies and lacunae in the processing of Purchase Requisitions (PRs), scrutiny of indents, and execution of contracts  and Mr. Harish Agarwal, Manager (Vigilance)  co-ordinated the function.
