A ‘Run for Unity,’ was organised by SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant on 31st October 2024 to mark the National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas). Around 200 Sports persons including Hockey Cadets and athletes of RSP and Yoga practitioners from across the township gathered to participate in the ‘Run for Unity’ organised at Ispat Stadium in the morning.
Mr. Tarun Mishra, ED (HR) with the additional charge of ED (Projects) flagged off the Mini Marathon. Mr. Alok Verma, ED (Mines) with the additional charge of ED (Works), Mr. P K Swain CGM In-Charge (TA & CSR), Mr. T G Kanekar, GM In-charge (Town Services) and other Officers and staff of the Plant were present on the occasion.
The Rashtriya Ekta Diwas pledge in Hindi was administered to all this occasion by Mr. Alok Verma, in Odia by Mr. P K Swain and in English by Mr. T G Kanekar. The participants covered a distance of about 1000 meters inside the stadium.
Mr. Raghu Padhi Deputy Manager (Sports) coordinated the programme while Mr. Anil Kumar Mallick, MOMT (SSM) anchored the show.
Earlier, pledge taking ceremonies were organized across different offices and departments of the plant where Senior Officers and employees took the Integrity Pledge.
Through all these programme held on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, RSP reiterated its commitment to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation
