Curated by:Rajeev Bhatt

On December 10-11, 2024, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also the mahant (head priest) of the Gorakhnath Math (Gorakhnath Temple), a Hindu monastery in Gorakhpur , held a two-day “Janta Darshan” at the temple complex. During this event, he interacted with people from various districts, listening to their concerns and directing officials to address the issues promptly. He emphasized the need for swift resolution of problems.

Additionally, the Chief Minister participated in cow service at the temple’s Gaushala (cowshed). He also visited night shelters in Gorakhpur, where he ensured that people received relief, including blankets, food, and toys for children. Yogi distributed blankets to the needy people in these night shelters and instructed to construct three more night shelters for better accommodation.

To address the cold wave, he announced that funds had been released to distribute blankets to 4 lakh people in the first phase. He reiterated the commitment of the “double engine government” to provide permanent housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to 56 lakh families in both urban and rural areas. 4 lakh people will soon get permanent houses in the first phase.
Furthermore, extensive measures, including bonfires at public places, would be implemented to help people and animals combat the severe cold during the winter.
