The Regional Conference of Women in Public Sector (WIPS ) – Western Region was held at WCL Headquarters. All the subsidiary companies of Coal India along with HPCL, ONGC, RCF, and Representatives from public sector companies like Mazagon Dockyards Limited, MOIL, ECGC, NPCIL etc. participated.
CMD Shri J.P. Dwivedi in his address ,congratulated the women present and praised the work done under VIPS throughout the year. He said that the participation of women in the coal mining industry is constantly increasing. At present, about 10% of the total workforce in WCL is women.
Chairperson-Apex ( WIPS) Smt. Varsha Raut, WIPS – West Zone President Mrs. Anupama Temurnikar, Secretary Mrs. Manjiri Purandare, and Treasurer Mrs. Vandana Atram were present. Mrs. Anupama Temurnikar delivered the welcome address in the program. After this Mrs. Sugandha Patil from ONGC and President-Apex (WIPs) Mrs. Varsha Raut addressed the gathering. The guests distributed prizes for essay and slogan competitions organized earlier by WIPs .
