A special award programme was organised at the Captive Power Plant -1 (CPP-1) Department SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) on 6th August 2024. This programme was organised to award the winners of Safety Quiz Competition conducted among the contract labour of the department. Ms. Asha Kartha, CGM (Safety & Fire Services) presided over the function and presented the awards to the winners. Present on the occasion were), Mr. K.S. Virdi, GM In-Charge, (CPP-1), Mr. Abakash Behera, GM (Safety), and Mr. N.C. Parida, GM (O&M), CPP-1, and other senior offices of the department.
Notably, the competition was organised to create safety awareness among the contract labour and inculcate the culture of total safety. In her address, Ms. Asha Kartha highlighted the paramount importance of safety in the workplace. She also underscored the need for continuous safety awareness programs to enhance departmental safety standards and the skill set of workers. The other senior officers also emphasised upon adhering to safety norms and use of PPEs in the shop floor.
