Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) achieved an impressive second position overall in the International Mine Rescue Competition (IMRC) 2024, held from 12 to 20 September in Columbia, USA. The WCL team, representing Coal India Limited, also secured second place in the First Aid category. The 10-member team, led by General Manager (Rescue) Shri Dinesh Bisen, competed against 21 teams from eight countries in this prestigious event.
Upon their return, the team met with Director Technical (Operations & Planning/Projects) Shri A.K. Singh, Director (Finance/Personnel) Shri Bikram Ghosh, and Chief Vigilance Officer Shri Ajay Madhukar Mhetre on 24 September 2024.
Shri A.K. Singh praised the team’s performance and encouraged them to continue excelling, expressing confidence that their victory would inspire all rescue workers at WCL. General Manager (Rescue) Shri Dinesh Bisen shared the team’s experiences from the competition, while the other officials congratulated and motivated the team for future success.
