ACTOR VARUN DHAWAN and Natasha Dalal finally married in a small ceremony in Alibaug on January 24. The childhood sweethearts had to postpone their big day due to COVID-19. Keeping social distancing norms in place, the couple sealed the deal with around 50 close guests in attendance at The Mansion House, located along the coast of Alibaug. Over the weekend, the actor shared the first official glimpse of the private affair in an Instagram post captioned “Life long love just became official.” The pictures showed the beaming couple taking their pheras hand-in-hand at the mandap. While the bride wore a pale gold lehenga covered in dual tones of silver and gold embroidery, Dhawan picked a heavily-embroidered off-white sherwani by with a hint of mint blue. .
From the delicate floral border of the dupatta to the star motifs on the sleeves, Dalal’s lehenga came covered in intricate detailing from head to toe. She matched the embellishment on her ensemble with her diamond jewellery, picking a sparkling necklace with a statement emerald pendant, earrings with pearl drops, and a complementing maang tikka, along with silver kalire by Mrinalini Chandra. With her hair pulled back into a half-up, half-down do topped with white flowers.
Director Karan Johar, who gave Varun Dhawan his big Bollywood break with Student Of The Year, expressed his emotions in an Instagram entry. KJo recalled meeting the actor in Goa for the first time and he wrote: “I am filled with a multitude of emotions and memories as I write this post! I still remember meeting this kid in Goa! Long hair, big dreams in his eyes and a swag that was waiting to explode on celluloid.”
A few years later, Varun was one of the assistant directors on the sets of KJo’s 2010 film My Name Is Khan, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. “A few years later he was my Assistant on MNIK! I silently observed his determined sincerity and also how hilarious he can be …sometimes even unintentionally. When he faced the camera for me for the first time I developed an immediately protective feeling of love and care for him,” he added.
