Various medical facilities built by NBCC and its subsidiary inaugurated by Union Health Minister

Ø  Sports Injury Centre will now feature world’s tallest automated storage and retrieval system in any hospital.

Ø  Sports Injury Centre becomes the first hospital in India to have a pneumatic tube system for samples, waste and laundry.

Various medical facilities built by NBCC and its subsidiary inaugurated by Union Health MinisterShri Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), today, inaugurated the new building of Sports Injury Centre (SIC) at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital, executed by NBCC on 08.01.2024. He also inaugurated Accident and Emergency Block at Lady Harding Medical College and Hospital, New Hostel Block at ABVIMS & Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Hostel & Academic Block at Rajkumari Amrit Kaur College of Nursing which were executed by HSCC, a subsidiary of NBCC (India) Limited.

Expressing his happiness, Shri K.P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD, NBCC said, “NBCC is committed to play a vital role in India’s healthcare infrastructure development along with its subsidiaries. Through our diverse projects, innovative approaches, and dedication to affordability and accessibility, we strive to make quality healthcare accessible to all citizens. We have extensive experience in constructing state-of-the-art hospitals, medical colleges, and super specialty healthcare centers across India.”

Various medical facilities built by NBCC and its subsidiary inaugurated by Union Health MinisterBuilt at a cost of approx. Rs. 350 Cr. the Sports Injury Centre will have diagnostic, physiotherapy, rehabilitative, surgical and inpatient facilities under one roof and will cut short the waiting list of patients. This will also boost the existing bed strength of 40 to over 150 beds and six operating rooms from earlier three. With all the modern facilities, technology and amenities this centre will now be one of the largest medical outfits in the South East Asia with a total built up area of over 43000 sqm catering to the specific needs of the sportsmen and women. The building has also been rated with GRIHA Rating 3 making it an environmentally friendly and sustainable structure.

Unique features of SIC:

  • World’s tallest automated storage and retrieval system in any hospital: This system in the building will automatically transfer up to 48,000 kgs. of essential material from one floor to another floor without the support of any hospital staff. This will reduce any sough of infection.
  • Sports Injury Centre has now become the first hospital in India to have a pneumatic tube system for samples, waste and laundry.
  • The hospital will have most advanced Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) machines which will give information about the real time consumption of water and electricity.
