Students of Ispat English Medium School, Sector-22 of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant participated enthusiastically in the annual ‘Van Mahotsav celebration on 3rd August 2024. Mr. P K Swain, CGM (TA &CSR) was the Chief Guest of the programme. Present on the occasion were Mr. T G Kanekar (GM In-charge- Town Services), Mr. A K Sabat GM (TS- Education, Services), Mrs. Sushrita Das Principal (IEMS, Sector 20), Mr. B Kar, Former Principal (IEMS, Sector 20), students, teachers and staff of the school. Later Mr Swain also launched the beautifully designed school website.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. P K Swain commended the efforts of the school in sensitising the students about the environment through Van Mahotsav initiatives and applauded the digitalisation move of the school for information dissemination and brand building.
The celebration included the planting of saplings by the dignitaries, students, and teachers. Students displayed placards to spread awareness about environmental conservation. The event saw enthusiastic participation from both teachers and students.
The new website, developed in-house by the school’s staff and alumni, was spearheaded by alumnus Mr. Bijay Kumar Tanty. The entire function was coordinated by Mr. S N Panda, Head Master, IEMS, Sector – 22 and anchored by Mrs Bharati Das.
The Van Mahotsav celebration, coupled with the website launch, reiterates school’s commitment to environmental education and technological advancement.
