– Dance troupe of Oram Cultural Dance Group, Saliya Toli emerges Champion
Thirty dance troupes from different villages of Lathikata Block enthusiastically participated in the zonal level competition of Synergy Lok Sanskrutik Mahotsav, organised by the CSR Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) at Telitola, Tainsar village on 4th November, 2025.
Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), RSP graced the concluding function as the Chief Guest while Mr. T G Kanekar, CGM (TS & CSR) was the guest of honor of the function. Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), Mr. R S Bara, DGM (CSR), Mr. T.B.Toppo, DGM (CSR), Mr. B Jena, AGM (CSR), Mr. S.K. Sukula, Deputy Manager (CSR) and Ms. Sanjukta Bindu Barla, Zilla Parishad Member, Lathikata, other Officials of CSR, SHG Group members and village elders were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Misra congratulated the winners as well as the participants of the event and lauded the efforts of CSR department of RSP in promoting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
Mr. Tarun Misra presented the first and second prizes while Mr. Kanekar presented the third prize to the winners. The other dignitaries presented the consolation prizes to the participating teams.
Oram Cultutal Dance Group of Saliya Toli village emerged as Champion of the Lathikata Block dance festival and won cash award of Rs. 10,000/- and the Champion trophy.
Karma Kala Parishad of Nuagaon village, bagged the second prize that consisted of a cash award of Rs. 8,000/- and a trophy. The third prize carrying a cash prize of Rs. 6,000/- and a trophy was presented to Jai maa Sarna Adi Shaki dance troupe of Betaura village. The judges were also felicitated on the occasion.
Consolation prizes of Rs. 2,500/- were also given to each of the remaining participating troupes.
The event was organised by the CSR Department of RSP with the support of Sri Ram Self Help Group of Telitola, Tainsar village. Ms. Munmun Mittra welcomed the gathering while Mr. T B Toppo proposed a formal vote of thanks. The event was facilitated by the CSR team of RSP. A large number of villagers from neighbouring areas enjoyed the dance extravaganza.
